Thus, the Company’s Social Commitment Policy has evolved to state TVIRD is committed to exploration and mining practices that promote transparency, responsible stewardship of the environment, and the inalienable rights to life, dignity, and sustainable development in its host.
Human Rights Impact Assessment
The outcome and recommendations of internal human rights studies provided the baseline information to evaluate and review TVIRD’s economic, legal, moral, ethical and social responsibilities. This supported the development of the Social Commitment Policy, which pledges the Company to the principles of the United Nations Norms on the Responsibilities of Transnational Corporations and Other Business.
Transparency and Open Door Policy
Transparency is an integral part of TVIRD’s management philosophy. As such, TVIRD affirms its commitment to be more responsive to the increasing demand from all sectors of society for information and accountability regarding the Company’s goals, activities and results of its business.
